Bakery closure ends Wonder Bread for OR, WA
The horror! But all is not lost; apparently we’re keeping our Twinkies:
Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Bakery closure means no more Wonder Bread in Washington, Oregon
TACOMA, Wash.—Come December, the Wonder Bread box will be bare in Washington and Oregon.
A decision by bankrupt Interstate Bakeries Corp. to close a bakery in Lakewood will cut off the supply of Wonder Bread, hamburger buns and rolls made by Interstate in both states
About 200 employees will lose their jobs.
The closure is the latest cost-cutting measure by Kansas City, Mo.-based Interstate. The company was forced into bankruptcy protection in 2004 as increasingly health-conscious eaters grew less interested in the company’s famous white bread and other treats, such as Hostess Cup Cakes and Twinkies.
The two states will continue to get a supply of the snack cakes from a Seattle plant that will remain open.

I am trying to find a store in Washington that I can get the Hostess orange cupcakes. I really like these cakes and was upset that they carry the chocolate cupcakes in the stores and not the orange. If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

What searches have you attempted?
I did a search on “Hostess Orange Cup Cakes” http://www.google.com/search?q=Hostess+Orange+Cup+Cakes and came up with several links for places you can order Hostess products to be shipped to you, but nothing that listed any places in Washington state where you could buy them locally.
I’ve only ever seen the orange cupcakes in stores around Halloween and Thanksgiving, so I assumed they were specific to the holidays. But it looks like you can in fact get them year-round if you’re willing to have them shipped to you.
You might also check with Hostess directly. They might have local-supplier information that wouldn’t be available on the Internet.
And finally, if you regularly bought these products at a particular grocery store, check with them to find out if they can get them for you as a special order or perhaps point you to a different source for local purchases.
I’m not a Hostess expert, just an interested sometime consumer who thought the article I linked was interesting, but there’s a ton of info and possible sources out there for you. Good luck with your search.
