URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

Turns out I received an alert about this dangerous possible snowfall at 03:39. Just think, I could’ve been FREAKING OUT!!! for nearly four hours by now if I’d thought to check my email at oh-dark-hundred:

URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SEATTLE WA
EVERETT AND VICINITY-
338 AM PST TUE FEB 14 2006

...SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SEATTLE HAS ISSUED A SNOW ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS MORNING.

A BAND OF SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE AREAS OF SNOW IN EVERETT AND SOUTHERN SNOHOMISH COUNTY THIS MORNING. LOCAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE TO TWO INCHES ARE LIKELY...MAINLY ABOVE AN ELEVATION OF 500 FEET.

A PUGET SOUND CONVERGENCE ZONE TRIGGERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MONDAY EVENING...AND IT IS THE CAUSE OF THE SNOW SHOWERS THIS MORNING. THE CONVERGENCE ZONE WILL WEAKEN AND DISSIPATE LATER THIS MORNING...AND TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB INTO THE LOWER TO MID 40S THIS AFTERNOON.

A SNOW ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW ON ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE EXTRA CAUTION WHILE DRIVING THIS MORNING.

The radio newsies are rattling off lengthy lists of schools, mainly in Snohomish County, that are delaying their starts by 90 minutes or more because of the tremendous blizzard that blew through overnight.

This is such a wtf? metro area when the snow flies.
